Feel Great Every Day

Feeling great doesn’t have to be complicated. One of the simplest paths to feeling great is to nourish each our mind, body, and soul, every single day. There’s a reason that mind, body, and spirit are often listed together. It’s a reminder of the things that mean the most when it comes to overall health.

The following are my favorite things to do each day. Copy these, or decide on your own favorites. It’s best to choose things that you like to do, so it’s not a chore. Also, you may want to reflect on each day to see how your practices are working for you. You can always tweak your habits for maximum results.

For the Mind- I write in my journal every day. What comes out onto the page differs every day. Sometimes it’s stream-of-thought, and sometimes gratitude. I also will record things that are bothering me, to-do list items, and random thoughts. Lately, I’ve had messages that are just for me from my highest self. It’s interesting to see what comes through the pen. Writing keeps my mind clear, focused, and happy.

For the Body- I start each day with a big glass of water followed by movement. I do spinal warm-ups, range of motion, Tai Chi moves, and/or light stretching. I’ll sometimes add strength building, energy work or asana. It feels good to move first thing after having been still all night.

For the Spirit- I meditate and pray. Someone once said, “prayer is when you talk to God, meditation is when God talks to you.” Although I can’t remember the person who said it, I will never forget the sentiment. Prayer allows me to offer up the things I have no control over. Meditation brings me a sense of calm and peace that is unparalleled. It brings me energy and ease throughout my day.

Once you create your own self-care rituals, you’ll feel better in many ways. I find these practices to be non-negotiable when it comes to dealing with all the craziness in the world right now. I hope you’ll try my suggestions, or start thinking about what would nourish your mind, body, and soul.
