The Power of Walk for Peace to DC

You may know the Walk for Peace to DC is finally in our backyard. The 2,300-mile pilgrimage from Ft. Worth, Texas to Washington, DC began in October 2025. The Buddhist monks from the Hương Đạo Vipassana Bhavana Center are walking to promote peace, mindfulness, compassion, and nonviolence. And while these reasons are enough on their own, you may not realize the effect this pilgrimage is having on the collective human consciousness.
The very presence of the monks is helping to stabilize, ground, and hold the frequency that allows humanity to expand its consciousness. We are currently in a planet-wide shift of consciousness, and strong foundational support is needed for true spiritual growth to occur. For the millions of people who have been touched by the monks, the personal internal shift may have also begun. I hold hope that the monks’ presence has helped the Great Awakening even among those who weren’t consciously aware of their presence. I also hold hope for those that are still asleep, angry, fearful, and unsure of the future. May they join in the awakening.
The monks bring calm and hope while the world seems to be in complete chaos. While many in the country are being consumed by negativity, the Epstein Files, and the inhumane treatment by ICE, the monks are offering us steadiness.
Because a monastic lifestyle is purposefully simple, they are able to concentrate their energy on spiritual attunement and devotion. By doing so, they easily regulate their nervous systems and allow their energy to vibrate at such a high level that we can be affected simply by being in their presence (direct presence isn’t even necessary to feel the effects.) This high, Divine vibrational energy is why they can touch the depths of our hearts.
They are holding the space for us to join them, and to turn our attention away from these things that we do not desire. The more we focus on the horrors the more horrors we will see. This is Law of Attraction, wherever you place your attention is what you will draw in.
As you focus instead on what you do prefer, such as calm, joy, steadiness, relaxation, and a regulated nervous system, the more you will bring these things into your life. This is not to say you need to be ignorant, turn your back on, or bypass the horrors that are happening. Stay informed, help as you are called to do so, but don’t let it consume your life.
When you focus on what you want, what you can do, and the calm you can hold, then you pass along the same energy to those around you as the monks are passing on to those on their path. In this way we can all use our divinity to hold steadiness for others long after the monks have returned home.
